In some countries, government-sanctioned circumstances or anti-Christian laws lead to Christians being harassed, imprisoned, killed, or deprived of possessions or liberties because of their witness. Christians may also be prevented from obtaining Bibles or other Christian literature. Even in countries where governments do not actively oppose Christianity, believers suffer severe persecution from family, friends, neighbors, political and religious groups, or rebels because of their witness.

The areas in orange 

 These are areas being closely monitored by Voice of the Martyrs because of a trend towards increased persecution of Christians. 

  Human trafficking represents a severe injustice that strips millions of individuals of their liberty and self-respect. Across the globe, men, women, and children are subjected to exploitation through forced labor and sexual slavery, often operating in the shadows of fear and secrecy. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to shine a light in this darkness, advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves and praying for those who endure suffering.

VFV is committed to the powerful and fervent prayer of righteous people, as stated in James 5:16b: “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” VFV understands that our battles are spiritual and that prayer is a crucial source of strength in our struggles. Through prayer, we invite God’s justice and mercy into situations that often seem beyond our control. It helps us connect deeply with God’s heart for those who suffer and allows us to join in His mission to bring freedom to those in bondage (John 4:18). As Psalm 82:4 reminds us, we are called to “Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” This call isn’t just a suggestion; it’s a heartfelt command for every follower of Christ to respond with compassion and action.
