Poems From The Heart

Who Speaks For Me?

Poem by: Jacqueline Mitchell

Houston, Texas

I cried out but no one heard,

They say it is an unspoken word.

But here I am, in this dark place,

See my hands, my feet, my face.

I’m not a mistake, I couldn’t have been,

Even, if I was conceived in sin.

You were here first this is true,

Because your mother choose life for you.

Now don’t I deserve that very same choice?

Who will speak for me; who will be my voice?

You are using your head and not your heart,

If you go through with this, I’ll come out in parts.

And don’t think I won’t be traumatized,

I’m being forced from this place, it’s not my time.

I know that I was unexpected to you,

And now you think your dreams won’t come true.

But my dreams I’ll have can also be great,

I was created by the One who knows my fate.

I could be the one that discovers the cure for cancer,

Remember He also has all the answers.

And now this maybe my final hour,

But it doesn’t have to be, it’s in your power.

So, even though I’ am not a part of your plans,

I could be raised by another woman and man.

That can’t have a baby, even though they’ve tried,

You can make their dreams come true, by keeping me alive.

And even though I was really given to you,

If you give me to them, all our dreams can come true.

So now you have a decision to make,

And remember God never makes mistakes.

I know you have a difficult choice,

But you are the only one that can be my voice.

Sweet Momma

Poem by: Lynda Smith

Birmingham, Alabama

Your pregnancy test is positive sweet momma now what in the world will you do?

Before you decide my fate sweet momma, I must tell you, I LOVE YOU.

Are you happy sweet momma and with joy over the moon?

Or are you anxious and scared to be a mother maybe just a little too soon?

Be strong and courageous sweet momma the Lord will help you find a way.

Don't be upset or scared my precious momma help me get to my birthday.

I am not a bother sweet momma but just a wee little one.

Give me a chance sweet momma so I can laugh and play in the sun.

Bend your ear to my tiny heartbeat sweet momma as I scream silently as loud as I can.

My life has Joy and meaning my momma because I am part of God's perfect plan.

If you cannot keep me sweet momma, it really is okay.

You can bless someone else abundantly and with their yearning family I will stay.

Your fragile emotions will remain intact my momma because you did not give into fear.

Knowing I am cared for and loved sweet momma will help any sadness disappear.

It won't be long sweet momma and you will feel me wiggle, move and squirm.

You are important and a treasure on this earth my momma so please stand firm.

There is no judgement or shame sweet momma if I had unknown siblings once upon a time.

The Lord will gather you and hold you in his arms and not condemn you with any kind of crime.

Nestled in the warmth of your changing body, I am bathed in God's healing light.

You are a special blessing on this earth sweet momma and are precious in God's sight.

Fight for me sweet momma, with all that is in you please fight!
You are the only one that can get me to the finish line and do what is true in God's sight.

I am made in the image of God sweet momma. I am not at all a mistake.
Can you help me sing for joy my momma since with my breath I cannot yet take.

Sweet momma if my existence finds you on a rugged and unexpected road,
Jesus will carry you like his lamb my precious momma and welcome you to his fold.

Even though your current world may be filled with uncertainty, chaos or strife,

I want to thank you with all my little heart sweet momma for giving me my life.

Voices for the Voiceless Poem by Poet, Jackie Mitchell

VOICES FOR THE VOICELESS PRAYER LINE CALL

Voices for the Voices has a prayer line,

That meets every Monday thru Friday 7am central standard time (CST)

It’s hosted by Pastor Elvira Craig a mighty woman of God,

She answered the call to take a stand, for truth with no facade,

The prayer call is consisting, of three separate parts,

As they give attention to what matters, to God the Father’s Heart.

The unborn, our churches, our leaders and our nations,

and they do this with boldness and with all provocation.

Praying that mother’s making decisions to interrupt their pregnancies,

at the top of the hour, for the Holy Spirit to intervene.

So often you hear Manana praying with her soft spoken voice,

Daddy God, forgive the mothers and fathers for making this evil choice.

Even lifting up the doctors who commit the heinous crime,

of murdering innocent babies time after time.

We have Dawn, Linda and Jackie, Anita, Susan and Joanne,

All take turns praying, as they all take a stand.

A stand for righteousness, truth and justice,

Knowing we can’t come off the wall, no we mustn’t,

Praying that the church would rise up for such a time as this

Is so vital for the body of Christ and we don’t want to miss.

An opportunity to pray against the corruption that’s been going on to long,

When we act like the world, instead of the God to whom we belong.

If my people which are called by name, would humble themselves and pray,

Seek my face and turn from their wicked ways

Then I will hear from heaven forgive their sins and heal their land,

That is, the Father’s will that is the Father’s Plan

The third part of the call, is very exciting I’ll say,

Good morning Intercessors says Pastor Carlton, For this is the day.

For this the day that the Lord has made

And we rejoice in Him, because He heard us prayer.

For the unborn, the church and now just moments away,

Zana will pray for our President as we come with grateful praise.

She’s in charge of sharing, the President’s Itinerary.

So we may cover him and his cabinet, from the schemes of the enemy

We will continue to pray, for the leaders of this great nation,

As we lift up our President, with no form of hesitation.

For it says we should pray for those with authority over us,

Not the we give glory to man, for its only in God we trust.

We are sharing news that matter and victories we have won,

Never ever forgetting it’s because of what Jesus Christ has done.

We have Sharon, Pat, Ethan and Dana that comes to intercede

There’s is Jessica, Pastor Beverly and Denise, with her updates if you please

Gail who reads the target prayer, every Friday closing the week out,

And to all the others I can’t name, there’s no reason to pout.

Take heart you might prayer warriors for our Father in heaven above,

Havn’t forgotten you, and your faithful labor of love,

Stand firm in your calling, tested tried and true

Cause interceding as a Voice for the Voiceless is simply what we do.
